Sermon Application Questions:

1. What comes to your mind when you think of the Sermon on the Mount? What is your general impression of this extended teaching of Jesus?

2. Read Matthew 5:3, 5:10, 5:19-20, 6:10, 6:33, and 7:21. What theme do you see regularly occurring through these verses? How might knowing that these chapters set forth the way of life in the kingdom of God help you in doing what Jesus says?

3. As you look through the headings in Matthew 5-7 in your Bible do you sense that the most significant areas of your life are addressed? Is there anything you wish might have been included? What part do you feel speaks to you most directly or poignantly?
