A Simple Step Toward Loving Our Neighbors
As followers of Jesus, we know we’re called to love our neighbors—but let’s be honest: that’s often easier said than done. We might smile and wave or even know a few names, but we don’t always know the people God has placed near us in a meaningful way.
This summer, we’re inviting everyone at CrossWay to take a simple, intentional step: get to know a neighbor.
You could do this anytime, of course, but during July and August, we want to lean in together as a church family and grow in loving our neighbors in small, tangible ways.

What could this look like?
There’s no one right way to do this. You could:
And if you live alone or feel nervous, invite a friend or someone from your Gospel Community to do this with you.
- Invite a neighbor over for dessert, a meal, or even just a short chat on the porch.
- Make s’mores in your driveway
- Share a cup of coffee and ask about their story.

A Few FAQs:
Q: Can I invite someone from work instead?
You can, but we’re encouraging neighbor connections because it includes the whole family and naturally builds relationships right where you live.
Q: Do I need to bring up the gospel?
This isn’t about pressure—it’s about presence. But if the door opens, walk through it. You might ask about their upbringing or if they have a faith background. Let the Spirit lead.
Q: Can families do this together?
Absolutely! In fact, it’s a great opportunity to do this as a family.
Here’s one way to approach it together:
Q: What if someone says no?
That’s okay! Sometimes people just aren’t ready. If they decline, don’t be discouraged—just ask someone else. Keep planting seeds.

a final word
Pray about who He might be nudging you toward. Ask Him to give you eyes to see, hearts that care, and—like the believers in Acts 4—boldness to speak and act in love. We believe God delights to work through ordinary moments and simple steps of faith.
