To Speak To God Together
Mike Bullmore / November 10, 2019
BIBLE PASSAGE FOR THIS SERMON
...that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:6
Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together! Psalm 34:3
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! 2 Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! 3 Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! 5 For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100
Sermon Application Questions
- How often, during our Sunday morning gatherings, are you aware of speaking directly to God in your singing? What does it do to your heart when you are aware of this?
- Think about that word “together” and the specific way it shows up in in Romans 15:6 and Psalm 34:3. What does that do to your expectation for Sunday morning? What might it do to the way you enter into singing and praying at our Sunday gatherings?
- How would you grade yourself on the “joy and gladness” scale? If your score is lower than it should be, why is that?
Why We Gather is a month-long series exploring why we get together on Sunday mornings every week. The second reason we gather is to speak to God together. Sermon Text: Psalm 100.
