To Hear From God Together

BIBLE PASSAGE FOR THIS SERMON
I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. 3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
2 Timothy 4:1-4
13 And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.
1 Thessalonians 2:13
1. Describe with what frame of mind and heart you typically come to church on Sunday morning. What, if anything, do you think needs to change? How might that change come about? Decide on one specific step you will take in the coming week to adjust the frame of mind and heart with which you will come to the gathering next Sunday.
2. Do you pray for our gatherings week by week? From what was taught this past Sunday, how might you pray for your pastor? How might you pray for yourself? How might you pray for your brothers and sisters in your church family?
3. How will this message affect how you think about and receive the preaching that happens on Sunday mornings? 4. Recall a recent time you experienced hearing from God through the preached word. What effect did that have on you? Did it end up bearing some specific God-pleasing fruit?
2 Timothy 4:1-4 and 1 Thessalonians 2:13
