The Whisper of a Warrior-King Whom We Desperately Need
Mike Bullmore / December 8, 2019
BIBLE PASSAGE FOR THIS SERMON
The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until tribute comes to him; and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.
Sermon Application Questions – 12/8/19
- Recall the time before you were rescued by Jesus. What was your time of captivity under sin like? Think not just about your behavior but about your spiritual, emotional, and mental state.
- Look up and read Jeremiah 20:10-11. How does the idea of Jesus being alongside you as your “dread warrior” affect you? Is that a way of thinking about Jesus that you need to develop?
- How might seeing Jesus as your warrior-king affect how you’re thinking about and dealing with a hard situation in your life?
Mike Bullmore continues with the second sermon in our new series, “The Earliest Whisperings of a Coming One.” This sermon is from Genesis 49:10 and is titled, “The Whisper of a Warrior-King Whom We Desperately Need.”
