Christ’s Heart Toward Us Now: Part 1 This Same Jesus
Mike Bullmore / January 19, 2020
BIBLE PASSAGE FOR THIS SERMON
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Sermon Application Question – 1/19/20
- In the sermon it was said that Christians can tend to focus a lot on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus and not so much on what Jesus is doing now in heaven. Is that true for you? If so, why do you think that is?
- Which of the three “demonstrations” of the continuity of Jesus’ affection and disposition toward us was most helpful for you—Jesus’ words in John 13-17, the angel’s words in Acts 1, or Stephen’s words in Acts 7?
- If you are convinced that the very same Jesus we see in the gospels is right now in heaven with a heart of tender affection and graciousness toward you what does that incline you to do? When might you be most inclined to do this?
Mike Bullmore begins part one of a two-part sermon series today. His title is Christ’s Heart Toward Us Now: Part 1 – “This Same Jesus.” His sermon text is Hebrews 4:15-16.
